1:53 minutes

If you have Type 2 Diabetes, or if you are at risk for developing it (have Pre-diabetes), talk to your doctor and an OptiHealth Medical-Fitness Technician about a Therapeutic Fitness Training program as part of your medical treatment plan.
Video Notes
As your fitness level increases, your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes decreases.

Risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes:
  • Low Fitness = High Risk
  • Moderate Fitness = Moderate Risk
  • High Fitness = Low Risk

Conclusion #1: Fitness prevents the development of Type 2 Diabetes.

People with Type 2 Diabetes, but who walk regularly, are at a lower risk of dying than other diabetics, who do not walk regularly.

Walking 30 minutes per day (10 minutes after each meal) decreases your risk of dying by more than 50%.
