Exercise is Powerful Medicine - Study 13 of 14

Exercise & Longevity

2:34 minutes

If you are sedentary (get minimal exercise), but generally healthy and want to live a longer and healthier life, talk to a Medical-Fitness Technician about a self-directed Therapeutic Lifestyle Change Program. (Refer to www.OptiHealthChoices.com)
Video Notes
Study to determine the predictors of longevity (instead of the risk factors of disease and mortality).

Results: High Fitness is a better predictor of longevity than:
  • Blood Pressure
  • Cholesterol Levels
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • All of the above COMBINED!

The study suggests that a fitness assessment is superior to the traditional "physical exam" for predicting longevity.

Conclusion: Fitness Level (Aerobic Capacity, VO2-Max) is the best predictor of longevity.
