Task #1:
Sign-Up to take the Certification Course
10/14/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 0:30
Comments:
Signing up was an easy task, wasn't complicated at all.
I would say though, I went through the certification page and (just a thought) I put into AI to and asked for suggestions, this this is the prompt it gave me with this comment "This version keeps your message motivational and professional while sounding credible and ready for a website audience." Which if you'd like, this does sound more credible. But again, the rest is up for you to choose how you'd like to go about it.

Task #2:
Complete the Student Profile
(Ignore the Intro/Welcome page that is in development.)
10/14/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:30
Comments: This was an easy task, the last question just needed some thinking, but I know I was overthinking it. But rest assured it was easy to go through.
Completion Date: 10/17

Task #3:
Follow the instructions on the "Study Plan" page.

Helpful comments. I made changes to the Study Plan page as indicated. Thanks!

I like that you provided a study progress plan, will definitely help stay on track. But I did have a question, if the certificate is accredited in any way? Other than that I like how it's put together.

Good question. There is no outside or third-party accrediting body. This is the primary "internal on-boarding" process for the OptiHealth Network, but also serves as the basis for independent practice. The certificate is awarded by the OptiHealth Institute.

This set of tasks is to complete Section A:
Human Anatomy

Includes: Learning Modules 1-10 and Practice Exam A.

NOTE: The TITLE of each Learning Module is a direct link to that Learning Module.
Task #4:
Complete Leraning Module 1:

Anatomical Terminology
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 01:30
Comments: Working through the first module, I found that a few additions could make the learning experience easier and more effective. Including labeled diagrams, especially for the anatomical position image, would be very helpful for visual learners like myself to grasp the concepts faster and more clearly. I was able to find some labeled images through my own search, which really enhanced my understanding.

Thanks for the feedback, but I failed to mention clearly that I am planning to do an Instructional Review Video for each Learning Module and each Lab. I only need a review of the content to find mistakes - arrangement, spelling, grammer, navigation. You do not need to provide so much feedback on how to improve the learning experience. Students at different levels may want to put in extra time in the way they want to learn the material, but I can not cater to each student's particular needs. I have to keep it basic and proportionate.

As a post-graduate doctoral student you are far more intense and thorough than I need my students to be. Most of the materials are not critical information, and they will learn more and learn better as they proceed through the course and move on to the Skill Practicums - where they actually learn what the need to know and how to apply that knowldge. Section A is just general background information that will help later in the course as it will be reinforced accordingly.

Adding matching exercises in the module would also be a great tool for immediate practice. Going into the quiz without any practice was a bit overwhelming because I wasn’t sure what to expect. Having some practice opportunities beforehand would build confidence and better prepare learners. Some thing along the lines of;

Providing a blank body silhouette and a list of body parts for learners to drag and drop into correct locations. And finally having an option to reveal correct answers after submission.

Thank you, but I have to keep this simple. I have no intention to create learning exercises for the material (too much time and expense). I thik the videos will make up for the potential deficiencies that you are detecting.

Finally, for the quiz itself, I would recommend not displaying the answers on the side. This could allow learners to get credit even if they guessed incorrectly, which might undermine the assessment’s purpose. If the practice exams follow a different format, then the current quiz style could still serve as a good learning tool. However, if they follow the same pattern, it might be too easy for someone to quickly complete the certificate without fully understanding the material.

Thanks, but the quizzes are not for a grade - no pressure. They are teaching exercises that the students can use to test their own understanding after simply reading through the materials and visualizing the concepts. Cheating on the quizzes will be detected during the Skill Practicums where it all counts.
Completion Date: 10/21

Task #5:
Complete Leraning Module 2:

Body Mechanics
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:45
Comments: Coming from a biology background, I pretty much knew what the different terms meant but to make it easier to learn I would suggest having a video in the lesson to help remember the terms better. There are a lot of terms and the images in the module don't help that much with learning. For example I was confused between circumduction and rotation, so I looked up a video on youtube which made it better to understand the concepts and the difference between each.

The Glossary of Terms describes the difference, but it can be confusing.Yes, the video will help avoid that issue.

I love that there was a question at the end to help me think before moving to the quiz
Completion Date: 10/22

Task #6:
Complete Leraning Module 3:

The Skeletal System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:30
Comments: As I was working through this module, one thing that came to mind is how helpful this workspace has been for me to keep track of what I’ve completed so far. However, I think it could be even easier for others if the lessons had a dedicated page on the website that clearly shows what they’ve completed and where to pick up next. While the paper sheet provided at the beginning is useful, having a direct link to each module, especially for those working toward the certificate, would be incredibly convenient.

There is a direct link to each module. On the Certification Course page you can link to each Section. Then, on the page for each Section you can link to each Learning Module in that Section. (For your convenience, the Title of each Review Assignment is a direct link to that Learning Module. -- Example: "The Skeletal system" linked above.)
Certification Course
I know this isn’t a pressing issue right now, but it’s just a thought that could really enhance the learning experience.
Apart from this, the module was easy to navigate and there isn't anything I would imagine being done differently.

In my day, courses were intentionally NOT made easy to learn so that we had to put in the work to actually learn, know, and retain the information, and then how to apply it, and also learn how to be organized and efficient. I'm not looking for ways to make it any easier to learn. The inforation itself is easy enough.
Completion Date: 10/22

Task #7:
Complete Leraning Module 4:

The Articular System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 01:15
Comments:
This exercise was valuable, and I gained new insights from the lesson. However, I would like to suggest incorporating a visual element, such as a chart, to enhance the learning experience. Adding a chart would help maintain engagement, as the content became somewhat monotonous after the initial few sentences. Additionally, a visual aid could support memorization and reinforce key concepts more effectively.
screenshot_2025-10-23_at_9.52.06 am.png
screenshot_2025-10-22_at_2.07.24 pm.png
I made these two charts if you'd like to use them.

Thanks again for your effort. The videos will clearly explain everything. Your comments will help ensure that I address any points of confusion.
Completion Date: 10/23

Task #8:
Complete Learning Module 5:

The Nervous System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:45
Comments: I do not have any specific comments regarding this module. However, I found the material somewhat complex, although the inclusion of images was helpful for understanding. At this time, I am unable to identify any particular aspects that could be improved.

I am afraid I did not specify the primary reason for you to review the course. I am not asking you to suggest how to improve each Learning Module. That would be an endless job, which would go way beyond the scope and purpose of the course. This is simply to have you go through the material with a seperate set of eyes to make sure there are no major mistakes and that the website with its current features (links, charts, illustrations, quizzes, downloads, etc.) are fully displayed and all functioning properly.

I appreciate that you are taking the job so seriously. My budget does not allow me to enhance the features any more than what they are. I just need you to bring to my attention any problems you encounter as you go through the course as is. Although pointing out the content areas that need to be clarified in the video will be very helpful when I do the videos. I didn't want to make the videos until after the content was edited for any blatant mistakes. I apologize for the lack of clarity.

Task #9:
Complete Leraning Module 6:

Muscle Histology & Physiology
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 01:00
Comments: As the lessons progress, the material has become increasingly complex, containing a greater depth of information. Although there do not appear to be any immediate areas for simplification, the current structure remains effective. This module presents a substantial amount of content that will require additional time and reinforcement through external study resources to fully comprehend and retain.

Yes, thank you. I'll make sure the video compensates for the complexity of the material.
Completion Date: 10/24

Task #10:
Complete Leraning Module 7:

The Muscular System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 1:45
Comments: This course was quite extensive, probably because I had to keep going back and forth to Google the location of each muscle. It was definitely time-consuming, and I have to admit, it gets pretty boring after the first few charts. It was also helpful to jot down the information I found on Google to reinforce my learning. We could explore ways to make it more efficient and engaging, even though I guess it’s naturally a bit tedious by nature.

Yes, thank you. Again, I'll make sure the video compensates for the complexity and monotony of the material. I had considered adding a series of pages that would illustrate each muscle before getting to the charts, but the course is not so much about the what the muscles themselves look like, as if they were going to do surgerieson them, but rather more on their external location and their action on the particular joints that each muscle moves, which can be done using yourself as the visual aid.
Completion Date: 10/27

Task #11:
Complete Leraning Module 8:

The Cardiac System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 01:30
Comments: This module was enjoyable, and the final activity provided a great opportunity to put theory into practice. One suggestion I have is to include a fill in the blank worksheet version to make the activity more interactive and easier to complete.
Heart Rate Reserve Activity Worksheet

Step 1: Measure Your Resting Heart Rate (RHR)
• Sit quietly for at least 5 minutes.
• My Resting Heart Rate (RHR): _______ beats per minute (bpm)
Step 2: Estimate Your Maximum Heart Rate (MHR)
• Use this formula: 220 − your age = Predicted MHR
• My Age: _______
• My Predicted MHR: _______ bpm
Step 3: Calculate Your Heart Rate Reserve (HRR)
• HRR = MHR − RHR
• My HRR: _______ bpm
Step 4: Perform a Brief Strenuous Activity
• Type of activity (e.g., running, stairs): ___________________________
• Duration: _______ minutes
Step 5: Measure Your Exercise Heart Rate (Peak HR)
• Immediately after the activity, measure your heart rate.
• My Peak Exercise HR: _______ bpm
Extra Credit: Track Recovery
• Measure your heart rate every 30 seconds for 2 minutes after exercise.
• 30 seconds: _______ bpm
• 1 minute: _______ bpm
• 1.5 minutes: _______ bpm
• 2 minutes: _______ bpm
Step 6: Compare and Calculate
• Percent increase from RHR to Peak HR: _______%
• Percent of HRR used during activity: _______%
• Percent of HRR remaining for more intense exercise: _______%
Reflection Questions:
1. How quickly did your heart rate return to your resting level?
2. What does your recovery rate suggest about your current fitness level?
3. What strategies can help improve your heart rate recovery over time?

Health Reminder:
Regular exercise helps lower your resting heart rate and maintain a higher heart rate reserve as you age. This supports better endurance, heart health, and protection against common diseases such as heart attack, stroke, obesity, and dementia.

Graet idea! I will create a downloadable worksheet for the student to use for this Lab.
Completion Date: 10/27

Task #12:
Complete Leraning Module 9:

The Pulmonary System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:45
Comments: I would recommend adding something like this at the beginning of the module when introducing the order of the air passages. Including a clear explanation or visual early on would really help with understanding—I didn’t realize the pattern myself until it was asked in the lab at the end.
Pathway of Air: The Conduction Zone
Air moves into your body and follows this path:
• Nose or mouth
• Pharynx (throat)
• Larynx (voice box)
• Trachea (windpipe)
• Bronchi (branches entering each lung—primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.)
• Bronchioles (smaller air passages)
• Finally, to the respiratory zone
Note: The diaphragm and other respiratory muscles help move air in and out of the lungs.

Yes, this will be explained in the video, as well. Thank you!
Completion Date: 10/27

Task #13:
Complete Leraning Module 10:

The Vascular System
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 2:00
Comments:
I looked up the Key Differences after the types of Blood Vessels, and this is what I found, which would be helpful to include in the module.
• Arteries and arterioles have thicker walls due to higher pressure from the heart’s pumping.
• They contain smooth muscle controlled by the autonomic nervous system to regulate blood pressure. - nice addition!
• Arteries have smaller lumens (internal passageways) to maintain pressure; veins have larger lumens and thinner walls

Aortic Arch (For this section did you mean to label the following as A-D or keep the left portion unlabeled?
(1) (Combination) Brachio (arm) -Cephalic (head) Artery (right arm-head artery) branches into the:
-- Right Subclavian Artery to supply the right arm
-- Right Common Carotid Artery to supply the right side of the head -- "A&B" are branches of the Brachio-Cephlic
(2) Left Common Carotid Artery to supply the left side of the head
(3) Left Subclavian Artery to supply the left arm
The formating of my website builder is very limited for outlines. There are only 3 branches directly off the Aortic Arch. The A&B did make it confusing. I will change it. Thanks.

The explanation about the Vasculature of the head and neck is correct primarily. It uses standard anatomical distinctions, but a minor clarification would make it more precise for academic or teaching purposes.
Common Carotid Artery Branches
• The common carotid arteries split into the internal and external carotid arteries at roughly the level of the fourth cervical vertebra (C4).
• The internal carotid artery ascends directly to the cranial cavity without branching in the neck; its main job is to supply the brain, eyes, and forehead.
• The external carotid artery gives off several branches in the neck and supplies the face, scalp, and neck structures.
Thanks, but too detailed. The video (that you did not know about) will help focus and clarify all this

Vertebral Arteries
• The vertebral arteries arise from the subclavian arteries at the base of the neck.
• They ascend through the transverse foramina of the cervical vertebrae (usually starting at C6) and enter the cranial cavity to supply the posterior part of the brain, including the brainstem, cerebellum, and parts of the occipital lobes.
• Along their course, the vertebral arteries give off small branches that supply the cervical spinal cord and the deep muscles of the neck, but their primary destination is the brain rather than the cervical vertebrae or neck muscles themselves.
Thanks, but too detailed. The video again (that you did not know about) will help focus and clarify all this

Homeostasis (hō-mē-əˈ-stā-sis), noun – The maintenance of a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements of a living organism by adjusting physiological processes.
A simpler definition - Homeostasis is the process by which the body maintains a stable internal environment despite changes in external conditions. It helps keep things like temperature, blood sugar, and pH within a normal range, essential for survival and proper function.
-- I agree! Thank you!

For the Vasculature of the Head & Neck topic:
Something like this would help better understand the concept:
• Common Carotid Arteries branch into:
• Internal Carotid Artery: supplies the brain
• External Carotid Artery: supplies the face and scalp
• Vertebral Arteries branch from the Subclavian Arteries at the base of the neck and supply small branches to the cervical vertebrae and neck muscles.
Thanks, but too detailed. The video again (that you did not know about) will help focus and clarify all this.

Task #14:
Complete Practice Exam:

Section A
10/20/2025
Time Spent (HH:MM): 00:45
Comments: The questions were straightforward, except for the final question, number 25. Upon researching, I discovered that the most current scientific consensus indicates that blood flow to skeletal muscle increases by approximately 20- to 50-fold during maximal exercise compared to rest. I found this information in an article published in 2011. I wanting to know the source of your information to make sure that the information is up to date.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3157959/

Both statements are TRUE.
  • True = The amount of blood flow (raw measurement) to a specific exercising muscle can increase 20-50 fold. (A resting muscle receives minimal blood flow, and also depends on the size and function of the muscle.)
  • True = The proportion of the total cardiac output that goes to all the muscles during exercise increases about 10 fold.
  • Also, I am limiting my comparison of rest to exercise in average adults, not elite athletes during maximum exertion.
But thanks again for being so thorough. I will make sure I explain the basis of the measurements.

NOTE: The TITLE of each Learning Module is a direct link to that Learning Module.
Also, if you click on "My Account" in the navigation menu, you can go directly to the Certification Course page, which links to each Section, which then links to each Learning Module in that Section.

Task #15:
Section B:
Exercise is Powerful Medicine
Learning Modules 11-24
1) Watch each Video linked below,
2) Review the Notes after watching each video.
3) Take the Quiz for each Learning Module,
4) Report any issues (fixes) for each Learning Module
5) Record the time spent on each Learning Module.
"Studying" the material is not necessary.
These should be very straight forward. Just pretend you're a student taking the course.
I'm not looking to change anyting. I just need to know if there are any website issues that need to be fixed.
I'm thinking the Time for each LM should not be more than twice the video's running time, unless there are a lot of fixes to report.
Then take the Section B Practice Exam and report any issues.
Send me a note by WhatsApp after you're done with each Learning Module, example: LM11, Done.
So that I can fix things as we go.

Just a few things here and there.
“If you exercise less than 60 minutes per week, you can decrease your risk of developing high blood pressure by increasing the amount you exercise:”
This sentence is correct, but starting with “If you exercise less than 60 minutes per week” might be slightly confusing because the following percentages refer to people who increase their activity above this baseline. Maybe clarifying that these benefits describe reductions compared to the <60 min/week reference group.
For the sentence above we could use something like
"If you currently exercise less than 60 minutes per week can lower their risk of developing high blood pressure by increasing your weekly exercise"
Inconsistent capitalization: “High Blood Pressure” is capitalized in the conclusion and exercise Rx sections but lowercased elsewhere.

"is twice as deadly as being fit" This sounds a but informal, unless you don't mind the tone. But if you'd like it to be a bit formal, you could use the line below.
"associated with twice the mortality risk"
Additionally, I found this sentence to be a bit confusing as well, maybe not so much confusing but the grammar somehow doesn't sound right.
More importantly, mortality (death) rates increase with increases in weight, but only for the unfit individuals -- who do not get regular exercise.
Could be substituted with. "More importantly, mortality (death) rates increase with higher body weight, but this increase is observed only in individuals who are unfit and do not engage in regular exercise."

"Walking 30 minutes per day (10 minutes after each meal) decreases your risk of dying by more than 50%." Is this in regards to normal people or ones with Type 2 Diabetes.
People with Type 2 Diabetes, but who walk regularly, are at a lower risk of dying than other diabetics, who do not walk regularly.
Could be rephrased to;

"People with Type 2 Diabetes who walk regularly are at a lower risk of dying than other diabetics who do not walk regularly." This also looks and sounds grammatically correct.
Quiz
Although regular exercise helps prevent getting Type 2 Diabetes, it does not help protect against the negative health effects if you already have it.. This question sounds confusing, like the way it's worded. A rephrased version would help understand the question better. Below is the recommended rendition.
Although regular exercise helps prevent Type 2 Diabetes, it also helps protect against the negative health effects if you already have it. The original phrasing is intentionally a FALSE statement.

Low Fit men with High Cholesterol can reduce their risk of dying by exercising and getting fit ----> Men with low fitness and high cholesterol can reduce their risk of dying by exercising and improving fitness.. Just how it's phrased sounds a bit off.
If someone is fat, they can not be fit-----> cannot

1. What type of response do studies show regarding the effects of regular exercise on high blood pressure? * high blood pressure here isn't capitalized, but High Cholesterol in the second question is, as well as in other parts of the quiz too where different diseases have been mentioned, some lower case and some upper case. So keeping this consistent might not seem like a big issue, but it does make sense.
